Your privacy
Prepared October 27, 2026
A Moment to Pray is operated by James Riley in Chicago, Illinois, United States. This page explains how information is used when you create an account, write a prayer, subscribe, or contact us. Privacy questions can be sent to privacy@amomenttopray.com.
What you choose to share
We process your prayer request, selected tone and length to generate your prayer. Requests may reveal sensitive personal information, including beliefs, health concerns, or relationships. Share only what you are comfortable having processed for this purpose, and avoid unnecessary identifying details about other people.
The app does not save your original request to its database. The form is cleared after successful generation. An unsaved prayer remains in the current page until you leave it or close it. Temporary metadata supports daily limits, audio authorization, and Bible companions; it does not store the original request. Bible companions and their explanations may be held temporarily for saving and retries.
To reduce repetitive writing, we remember identifiers for up to six recently used writing approaches on your account. This record contains no prayer requests or prayer text and is removed after 30 days without an update.
Your account and saved collection
We use your account identifier, verified email address and authentication information to sign you in, keep your collection private, and connect your subscription. Saved prayers, titles, verses and explanations remain in your collection until you delete them or request account deletion. Downgrading locks access to paid collection features; it does not erase the collection.
Deleting a saved prayer keeps its saved verse unless you select the option to delete both. You can also delete a saved verse separately. Audio is prepared for the current prayer and held in your browser for replay or download; this app does not keep an audio library with saved prayers. A downloaded file remains on your device under your control.
Services that help us run the app
- Cloudflare: website hosting, database storage, network security, backups, and delivery of support reports.
- Clerk: account registration, sign-in, verification and account recovery. If you sign in with Google, Google also processes that sign-in.
- OpenAI: prayer writing, Bible passage selection and explanations, and optional spoken audio. The relevant request or prayer content is sent for these features.
- Stripe: payment processing and subscription management. We receive billing identifiers and subscription status; we do not store your complete card number.
- Google Workspace: support and privacy correspondence, including reports you send us.
We request that generated text responses are not stored as retrievable API response history. This does not mean zero retention by the AI provider. OpenAI’s current API documentation describes abuse-monitoring retention of up to 30 days by default, with legal and safety exceptions; temporary processing caches may also apply. API content is not used for model training by default. See OpenAI’s data controls.
Reports and support conversations
A prayer report includes the issue category, your optional note, verified reply email, and reference identifiers. The title, prayer words and Bible companion are included only if you select the checkbox. Your original request is not automatically included. The app retains delivery metadata, rather than report text, and removes metadata older than 30 days when another report is submitted.
Support emails remain in our mailbox while needed to answer questions, investigate issues, maintain necessary records, or meet legal requirements. We do not publish your prayers or support messages. We may disclose information when required by law or when necessary to protect people, accounts, or the service.
Cookies and browser preferences
Authentication and security services use cookies or similar storage to keep you signed in and protect the app. Your browser also remembers preferences such as text size, eligible colors, tone, length and your chosen audio settings. Clearing browser storage resets those preferences. We do not currently run advertising trackers or sell personal information.
Your choices and requests
You can update account information in My account, manage your subscription through Stripe, and remove saved items when collection access is available. For access, correction, export or deletion requests, email privacy@amomenttopray.com from your account address. We may verify ownership before acting. Contact support if you cannot sign in or your collection is locked.
Some records may need to remain for security, payment disputes, legal obligations, or backup recovery. We will explain applicable exceptions when responding. We use access controls and other safeguards, but no online service can promise absolute security. Our service providers may process data in the United States and other countries.
Children and changes
A Moment to Pray is intended for adults age 18 and older. We do not knowingly invite children to submit personal information. Contact us if you believe a child has provided information. Material changes to this policy will be communicated before they take effect when required.
Owner review needed: confirm support-email retention, deletion response procedures, and production provider settings before making this policy effective.
